When I found out I was pregnant I promised myself I would take some maternity photos but as time went on, like most women, I felt less and less like posing for the camera! Before I knew it I was 34 weeks pregnant and started to panic that I was going to miss pressing 'pause' on this special time in my life, despite me being absolutely convinced I'd put on 15 stone and everything wobbled.
So, one lazy Sunday afternoon I got brave and, while Mr H was cutting the grass, I set my camera up on the tripod for a DIY maternity photography session of my very own!
Looking back on them now (Jesse is one year old) I am sooo glad I did - I have the last two portraits hanging in the nursery, next to newborn photos of Jesse, and I LOVE them! Turns out I didn't look as much like a pregnant Miss Trunchball as I thought and the 15 stone weight gain seems slightly over exaggerated...!
Here is a mini collection of my maternity photographs, from about 7 months pregnant, with a vintage twist in colour and black & white, and something more ethereal near the end...
