Now that winter has set in and it's cold and windy outside here's some summer wedding fun to brighten up your evening!
When Michelle and Chris asked me to photograph their vintage, boho inspired yurt wedding in Devon, I jumped at the chance. What could be better than teepees in the forest, a sit down summer BBQ and dancing the night away to a live band as the sun sets?
The atmosphere in the bridal suite on the morning of the wedding was fun, anxious, excited, relaxed and...did I mention fun? With the flower girl stealing one of the bridesmaid's chicken fillets (did she ever get it back?!), plenty of rear and frontal flashing going on, and champagne going down like water (although there were 11 bridesmaid's glasses to fill), you knew that this day was going to be a great one.
There was sunshine, laughter, tears, hilarious speeches, the groom's front door key being returned by most of the female guests and bridal party (not forgetting Andy), readings from long lost letters of girlfriends past, Dirty Dancing floor lifts, some serious father of the bride strutting to Carly Simon 'You're So Vain' and, to finish it off, a trip in an ambulance for one of the bridesmaids who decided that she wanted to do her own rendition of Billy Elliott over the fireside camp. Literally, over the fire.
This wedding had everything. Including a wonderful couple who are so perfect for each other in every way (except height perhaps but I'm being picky).
Congratulations to Mich and Chris and thank you for asking me to be a part of such an incredible day. It was truly unforgettable.
(Did I mention I got to stay in the honeymoon suite? That's another story for another time...)
